Illegal assets worth Rs 6.05 crore seized from clerk's house

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officers raided the residence of a clerk in Ambikapur district of Chhattisgarh and unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs 6.05 crore today.
"ACB cleuths raided the residence of Rishi Kumar Singh (50), assistant grade III, posted in the Land Records Department of Ambikapur district collectorate and unearthed disproportionate assets worth 6.05 crore," a senior ACB official told reporters here.
According to the official, his total assets include a two-storeyed building at Kedarpur locality worth Rs 1.30 crore, an under-construction marriage hall in Bhagwanpur village on Ambikapur-Banaras Road and a farm house worth Rs 1 crore, a plot worth Rs 50,000 in the name of his wife in Dutta colony, besides plots and immovable assets in the name of his children.
Cash worth Rs 15 lakh was also found at his house, the official said, adding that Singh's locker in the State Bank of India (SBI) branch, Ambikapur is yet to be checked.
So far, officials have unearthed property worth around Rs 6.05 crore, though evaluation of his property is still on, the official said, adding that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
