Police said Selvakumar posed as RTO, stopped a lorry at Koothiakundu on Madurai and Virudhunagar and said the lorry was overloaded and demanded Rs 1000 from the vehicle driver.
After giving the money, the driver informed the lorry company Manager about the incident and asked him to check up with the RTO officials whether there is checking of vehicles in the area.
After coming to know that officials were not checking the vehicles, The Manager rushed to the spot and nabbed Selvakumar who was stopping another vehicle and handed him over to the police.
