"Relations of the two countries are improving every day and standing on a firm base of good and positive relations. This healthy character of the two countries is paving the way for development of both the countries," Sarkar said in his valedictory address of 151st birth anniversary celebrations of Rabindranath Tagore at the Tripura University here.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visiting Delhi in 2010 and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh going to Dhaka in September last year marks the beginning of a new era in bilateral relations, Sarkar said.
He said the eternal appeal of Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam for globalisation of culture would always remain an inspiration for improving relations between the two countries.
