Officials in the Information and Broadcasting ministry said that the delegation, led by ministry secretary Bimal Julka, will explore the scope for the pooling of creative, artistic, technical, financial and marketing resources for co-production in order to globally showcase India's 'soft power'.
The visit by the delegation assumes importance in the light of the Audio-Visual Co-Production Agreement which was signed recently between India and Canada.
The agreement enables Indian and Canadian film producers to collaborate on various aspects of film-making.
The visit is expected to chart out a roadmap for the funding of co-production projects in the future and boost the export of Indian films across film markets, including the Canadian market.
