Indecisiveness led to Cong failure to form govt in Goa: Chavan

Senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan today attributed his party's failure to form government in Goa to its "indecisiveness".
The Congress, which emerged as the single largest party in Goa assembly polls, failed to form the government in the coastal state where the BJP, with the help of allies and independents, reclaimed power.
"The CLP (Congress Legislature Party) could not choose the leader and I think it a collective responsibility of all the leaders in the state... And (the) party paid the price of its indecisiveness in Goa," Chavan said at the India Today Conclave here.
Meanwhile, admitting that his party was facing a "low patch", Chavan said it "needs to do analysis".

"We have been through a low patch earlier also. We lost badly several times in the past including (that of) (Indira) Gandhiji. But we fought back. But this time, the crisis is real and we have to come out of it," he said.
"We lost Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and few other states. Few reason are obvious, while few are not," the former Maharashtra Chief Minister said.
Chavan also said that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has already expressed the need to restructure the party, while highlighted the role of the Gandhi family to keep it united.
"When we were all over in the country, we needed glue to stick together. Gandhi family provided that glue and we still need it," Chavan said.
