Sawal had earlier contested as an independent candidate from North Goa's Bicholim constituency and had remained in Opposition for five years. The ex-MLA will be contesting from the same seat on MGP ticket now.
"We welcome Sawal in the party. It is good that such veteran leaders are joining hands with MGP which will pave way for our success in the upcoming elections," MGP President Dipak Dhavalikar told reporters here.
MGP will be contesting the upcoming Goa polls in alliance with Goa Suraksha Manch and Shiv Sena.
