The high voltage triangular contest in the MCD polls, which finally turned out to be a one-sided affair for the BJP, saw six independents making their presence felt in a huge way.
Independent candidates, Poonam from Nangal Thakran and Archana from Holambi Khurd displayed woman power all on their own from North Delhi.
While Poonam defeated BJP's Aarti by 2,060 votes, Archana won the mandate against AAP's Mamta with a narrow margin of 381 votes.
From South Delhi, Suresh Choudhary defeated BJP's Chandan Kumar by 519 votes in Sangam Vihar A while Krishan Gehlot from Nawada won by 1,487 votes by defeating AAP's Balraj Sharma.
Independent candidate Aarti Yadav emerged victorious in Kapashera against Congress' Manju by 420 votes while Meena Devi pipped Sudha Sharma of BJP by 327 votes from Najafgarh.
