India and France share "unique commonality" of views on burning global issues and their enhanced coordination on the global stage would pave the way for a more secure, peaceful and a safer world, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh said Tuesday.
He made these remarks when a French parliamentary delegation called on him here.
He said the meeting between the representatives of parliaments of the two countries would be beneficial in sharing their rich experiences and learning from each other's best practices, a statement from the Rajya Sabha secretariat said.
He said India-France friendship is firmly rooted in the excellent bilateral understanding and mutual respect as well as in their commitment to the shared values of democracy, liberty, equality and fraternity.
"India accords high priority to its Strategic Partnership with France forged in 1998, which has been taken to new heights with the President Macron's visit to India in March 2018," the statement said quoting Harivansh.
