Ambassador of India to Nepal Ranjit Rae inaugurated Shree Purna Higher Secondary School in Kanchapur district today that was constructed with aid from India at the cost of Rs 17.6 million.
He also laid the foundation stone for the school building for Shree Siddhanath Higher Secondary School in Kanchanpur which is being constructed at the cost of Rs 32.3 million, according to a press release issued by the Embassy here.
Established in 1960, Shree Purna Higher Secondary School has been upgraded to Higher Secondary School.
Shree Siddhanath Higher Secondary School, established in 2005, has 800 students in total, of which 60 per cent are girls.
Underlining the importance of strengthening of educational infrastructure for Nepal's overall development, Rae in his address expressed the hope that the various projects being executed or completed under the Nepal-India Economic Cooperation Programme will help the people of Nepal in their quest towards peace and prosperity.
