India INX to begin trading in 33 new derivative contracts tmrw

BSE's arm, India International Exchange (India INX), will introduce 33 additional single stock derivative contracts, including Bharti Airtel, Coal India and NTPC for trading, from August 4.
This is in addition to the 21 single stock futures and options contracts already available for trading on the India INX platform.
Indian Oil Corp, Aurobindo Pharma, Gail India, Tata Power, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, are also among the 33 new derivative contracts introduced on the exchange's platform.
"India INX today received an approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India for introduction of 33 additional single stock futures and option contracts which will be available for trading from August 4, 2017," the exchange said in a statement.
"Starting August 4, a total of 54 single stock derivatives will be traded on BSE's India INX, clocking a market capitalisation of Rs. 72.34 lakh crore, which amounts to 55 per cent of Rs 131.77 lakh crore on BSE," it added.
India INX began operations on January 9, this year, at Gujarat International Finance Tec (GIFT) city -- the country's first International financial services centre (IFSC).
India INX has been witnessing a steady increase in the monthly turnover since it started operations. In July, the exchange clocked a turnover of USD 1,199.2 million.
It recorded a daily average turnover of USD 57.10 million in July 2017, a rise of 295 per cent from USD 14.44 million in April 2017 when single stock derivatives were launched on its platform, the statement said.
