"India is making mass purchases of LEDs (light-emitting diode). They have a current order for a few hundred million over three years. And with that, they have driven the cost down for them to a dollar. Amazing," Moniz said in his address to the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace on the Paris Climate conference.
"Of course, their goal here, they are going to use that to distribute to their rural population where introducing lighting of this type is a game changer, literally a life changer for families," Moniz said.
