Mohammedan Sporting today announced the signing of former India midfielder Rakesh Masih as they get ready for the second division I-League football to be kicked off on March 29.
Welcoming Masih, who was a member of the ISL winning Atletico de Kolkata's squad, Mohammedan Sporting's chief coach Ananta Ghosh said: "We badly needed a senior player like him in the midfield. With his experience, he will have a very big role to play for the team."
The 124-year-old club will compete with the likes of United SC, Aizawl FC, Chanmari FC, PIFA Sports, Kenkre SC, Hindustan FC and LoneStar Kashmir FC for promotion to the top tier I-League.
While the initial seven rounds of matches will be held in Siliguri, the return legs will be held in Golaghat, Assam till May 9.
