During the three-day meeting, an Indian delegation, led by Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami, is expected to ask Myanmar to rein in Indian insurgent groups operating from that country.
New Delhi is learnt to be upset because of the unchecked activities of North-eastern insurgent groups in Myanmar, notwithstanding Nay Pyi Taw's repeated assurances that it would not allow activities inimical to India from its soil.
Presence of Indian insurgent groups in Myanmar has been the top most security issue for India at every bilateral security talks, including the Home Secretary meetings held every year, in pursuance of the 1994 MoU between India and Myanmar, sources said.
