In the 15th round of Foreign Office Consultations, the two countries also deliberated on ways to enhance cooperation in areas of connectivity, development projects and consular matters.
At the deliberations yesterday, the Indian side was led by Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar while the Myanmarese delegation was headed by U Kyaw Tin, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
"The consultations were of special significance, marking as they did the first institutionalised exchange between India and Myanmar after the swearing in of the new government in Myanmar on March 30," the Ministry of External Affairs said.
The two sides also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest at regional and multilateral forums.
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval had visited Myanmar on June 16 as a Special Envoy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
