India today expressed satisfaction over the way Bangladesh handled security concerns raised by it and described it as "remarkable".
"The cooperation of the Government of Bangladesh to address the security concerns of India, particularly in dealing with Indian insurgent groups, has been remarkable, yesterday also and even today," Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said today at the inauguration of the Joint Retreat Ceremony at the border post here.
"The Indian government is also committed to address similar concerns," Shinde said, adding, "The Bangladesh government's implementation of mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, the agreement of transfer of sentenced persons, combating terrorism, dealing with organised crime and drug trafficking are being praiseworthy."
He said both countries could work together for better integration in the region and beyond South East Asia.
"India and Bangladesh must work to grow together in ensuring growth that provide opportunities to both our people," Shinde said.
Bilateral relations between the two nations received a major boost after the visit of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in January 2010, followed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit in September 2011, he said.
