India's Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae and Buddhist nun Dhammawati Guruma yesterday laid the foundation stone for the upgradation of Dharmakirti Community Health Clinic for Dharmakirti Vihar Conservation Trust.
The Indian government provided an assistance of NRs 41.95 million.
The upgradation, by constructing an 8-bed capacity building, medical wards and accommodation facilities, would provide better healthcare services to the local community.
The project is being implemented by Nepal's Department of Urban Development and Building Construction in coordination with the trust.
Dharmakirti Vihar Conservation Trust is a community based social and cultural institute of Newar community in Kathmandu.
The health clinic was established by the trust in 1998 with the objective of providing health services to Vikkhus (monks), Vikkhunis (nuns) and to the local community.
