The Indian side will be led by Anil Wadhwa, Secretary (East) while the Qatari delegation will be headed by Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mutib Al Rumaihi, Assistant Minister incharge of Asia in the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Qatar is an important trading partner of India in the Gulf region with bilateral trade exceeding USD 16.71 billion in 2013-14. It is the largest supplier of LNG to India.
India has a long history of friendly relations with Qatar marked by commercial ties and people to people contacts. The Indian community is estimated to be around 5,00000.
There has been a growing synergy in the hydrocarbon and other sectors between the two countries.
