India renovates temple, constructs school building

India has provided financial assistance to Nepal of NRs 58.24 million for the conservation and renovation of a temple and a school building.
Ambassador of India to Nepal Ranjit Rae yesterday inaugurated the newly renovated Shri Bala Tripura Sundari Devi Temple in Dolpa which was constructed with the assistance of Nepalese Rs 33.3 million from India.
Rae also inaugurated school building of Shree Chandannath H S School, Khalanga Bazaar in Jumla situated in Northern Nepal at the cost of Nepalese Rs 24.94 million.
The Tripura Sundari Devi Temple is located at the Tripurakot on the bank of glacial river Thuli Bheri, which is known as a historic structure and said to be more than 900- years-old.
The temple has great socio-cultural relevance in the life of the people of the Dolpa district, which is located near Tibetan border.
The renovation of the temple has upgraded the old structure with improved facilities for 20,000 pilgrims visiting the temple every year.
Established in 1951, and upgraded to Higher Secondary school in 2006, Shree Chandannath H S School is one of the important educational institutions of this remote mountain district in Nepal's north-western region.
The school has around 700 students of which 60 per cent are girls student. This is the first development project undertaken by Government of India in the remote Jumla District.
