India Rubber Meet in Kochi this month

The first edition of India Rubber Meet (IRM), an event proposed to be held annually, will be conducted on February 20 and 21 here.
The theme chosen for the meet is 'Indian Rubber: New Horizons', which will focus frontiers of the Indian rubber industry.
The meet will comprise talks and panel discussions involving stake holders and rubber promotion agencies like Rubbuer Board and Rubber Marketing Federation, a release issued by the organisers said today.
The meeting will be inaugurated by Vikram Shreekant Kirloskar, President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers and Vice-Chairman of Toyota Kirloskar Motors.

* With the health care industry in India is predicted to reach USD 150 millon by 2017, the local chapter of CII, in order to give impetus to the sector in the region, is organising a health summit in Coimbatore on February 16.

The summit, with the theme "quality in Health Care--the only way to go,' will be attended by eminent resource persons at National level across the industry, including those from National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Health Care Providers (NABH), IMA, Star Health and Allied Insurance company, Chennai and GE Health Care IT, Thavamani D Palanisami, President of the Summit, told reporters here today.
Stating that the healthcare sector in the country was expected to touch 250 Million USD by 2020, contributing an anticipated GDP spend of eight per cent from 5.5 per cent in 2009, she said Coimbtore, with 220 registered hospitals and 3,000 doctors registered with Indian Medical Council, has more than 10,000 beds.
It was also proposed to promote the region for medical tourism, as the sector, with International standards, has grown to compete with any major centres in India, she said.
The summit would cover need-based health care topics like health care accreditation including ethics committess, importance of quality, IT in health care qualituy, value of communication, ethical standards in health care practices and scaling up of work and maintaining quality and patient satisfaction, she said.
