Wild card entrant Banthia scored a 6-3 6-2 upset win over seventh seed Ballekere Ravikumar Nikshep in the pre- quarterfinals, where he was joined by unseeded Consalvo, who posted the biggest upset of the day by packing off second seed Kareem Allaf of Syria 6-2 7-5 at the Mhalunge-Balewadi tennis stadium.
In the girls' event, Sama scored a 6-4 6-3 win over her eighth seeded Indian compatriot Jennifer Luikham to also make it to the last-eight stage.
In the boys' section, top seed Jay Clarke of Britain entered the quarters, along with third seed Vasisht Cheruku of India and his compatriots - firth seed Aryan Goveas, sixth seed Paramveer Singh Bajwa and wild card Rian Pandole. Fourth seed Jack Macfarlane of UK, too, entered the last eight.
