"India values its relationship with Kuwait and is committed to further strengthen and expand it," said Ahamed.
The minister was speaking at a reception hosted by India's ambassador to Kuwait, Satish C Mehta, where he also interacted with members of the Indian community.
Speaking about India's bilateral relations with Kuwait, he said that the bonds of friendship between the two countries have resulted in close political understanding and strong economic and cultural ties.
Ahamed also expressed India's strong concern over the rising violence in war-torn Syria and appealed to all parties to work towards peace in the region.
Expressing India's concerns on the steep escalation of violence in Syria, he called upon all sides in the country to resolve all issues peacefully through discussions taking into account the aspirations of the people of the country.
"As a responsible member of the international community, India considers it a duty to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Syria. All sides should work for peace in Syria," Ahamed said
During his visit to Kuwait, the minister will represent India at the International Humanitarian Pledging Conference on Syria.
