The country should stand up to a parallel war being waged by an "Islamised social milieu" in Jammu & Kashmir, Panun Kashmir leader Ajay Chrangoo said today on the sidelines of the ongoing All India Hindu convention.
Around 130 Hindu organisations from as many as 21 states in the country and from Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are participating in the four-day convention, which began yesterday at Ramnathi village.
"Treating the Jihadi movement merely as terrorism is a self deception and Indian state not only has to stand up to a relentless war by terror, but also to a parallel war being waged by an Islamised social milieu in the J&K," the Panun Kashmir national spokesman said in a joint press conference with leaders of some Hindu organisations at the venue of the event.
He said the public disruption of encounters with terrorists, including stone-pelting, constitutes a part of the Jihadi war where civil society is being used as a "sanctuary as well as a civilian shield".
Hindu Janjagruti Samiti's (HJS') national spokesman Ramesh Shinde said the government can no longer afford to ignore the activities like holding of "pseudo-peace conclaves" or the statements of so-called mainstream Muslim leaders who supported the secessionist movement in Jammu and Kashmir.
"It is high time the Government of India recognise these conclaves and political expressions as essentially subversive in nature which are aimed at meeting the objective of Jihad half way," he stated.
Shinde said certain "so-called peaceniks" have been meddling in the affairs of J&K only to demoralise the security forces who are facing a war like situation in the state.

Panun Kashmir's Youth leader Rahul Kaul said there is no permanent solution to the Jihadi war except its military as well as ideological defeat.
"It is only in the best interest of India, and the world, that such fundamental Jihad forces and motives are crushed completely to ensure that we are able to save a peaceful and beautiful world for our progeny.
"We also want to state that the murder of a police personnel Sameer Bhat in Kashmir while on duty by his own colleague is the testimony to the fact that genocidal war against Hindus of Kashmir is going on unabated," Kaul said while demanding a probe by the CBI.
