Speaking at a conclave on 'New India Emerging Global Leader', Indian High Commissioner Jawed Ashraf said India would be a country that defends itself through its strength, but it will influence the world in terms of its values.
"India will be a country that leads not through coercion but by inspiration. It will be a country that will spread its idea, but not expand its territory," said Ashraf.
He said India's economy carried weight in the world, but it would seek international order in which every country, small or large can be sovereign and prosper in according with its own vision.
Ashraf highlighted the ongoing massive changes in India, describing ten factors that are fundamentally transforming India and providing the foundation for stable, inclusive and sustainable long-term development.
