Indian Boxing Council to hold clinic in Delhi

Looking to gain a foothold in the country, the recently-formed body for professional boxing -- the Indian Boxing Council -- will conduct a contact clinic in the city with promoters, coaches and pugilists on September 5 and 6.
IBC President Brig (retd) P K Muralidharan Raja would be conducting the clinic.
"The clinic for those in NCR will be held at Faridabad on September 5 from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm and for those in Delhi on September 6 from 10.30 am to 1.00 pm at Indian Islamic Cultural Centre, Lodhi Road," Brig Raja said.
The IBC had earlier conducted similar clinics in Bhiwani, Patiala, Coimbatore and Hyderabad.
"There has been a tremendous interest level evinced by Promoters, Coaches and Boxers in all these places and they are eagerly awaiting the start of the registrations and events. He also said that it was heartening to note that all the three categories ie; Promoters, Coaches and Boxers understood that Professional Boxing could bring them name, fame and wealth beyond their imagination," Brig Raja said.
After the Delhi and NCR chapter, the next Clinics will be held at Kolkata, Jamshedpur and Guwahati.
Brig Raja had also visited Thailand between August 24-26 where he met Professional Boxing officials including a senior functionary of professional boxing in Thailand, Gen. Kovid Bhakdibhumi, President of Asian Boxing Council and Vice President of World Boxing Council, Mr Patrick Cusick, Secretary General of WBC Asia and Mr Kiate Sirigul, Executive Coordinator for Asian Boxing Council.
