Mohammad Abdul Khadeer from Hyderabad, who works here as an electrical engineer, was scheduled to tie the knot this month but cancelled his wedding due to lack of money.
"I had no other option but to do this (call off wedding)," Khadeer was quoted as saying by the Gulf News.
He earns 6,500 dirham (Rs 1,13,644) per month and was last time paid 3,500 dirham in October last year.
Khareed said he had to borrow almost Rs 6,00,000 from private money lenders in India to make advance payments for his sister's wedding.
On April 20, Khadeer filed a complaint against his employers in the labour court.
