Local carriers are fully utilising their allocated traffic rights on India-Dubai sector with the currently available slots at Dubai airport, the government said in Lok Sabha today.
However, as of now two private airlines -- Jet Airways and SpiceJet -- have some balanced un-utilised slots at Dubai International Airport, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha said in a written reply in the House.
In December 2015, Indian airlines' body Federation of Indian Airlines (FIA) had drawn the attention of the government about the non-availability of feasible slots at Dubai International Airport (DXB), Sinha said.
"The matter was taken up with the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority in January, 2016. However, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority has not given any assurance for granting viable slots to Indian carriers at DXB," he said.
