Indian Embassy in Cairo celebrates Orphan's Day

The Indian Embassy in cooperation with the Egyptian-Indian Friendship Association organised the event at the Hanager Theatre at the premises of the Cairo Opera House.

The celebration was attended by popular singer and actress Bushra, Ahmad al-Kadi, head of the Egyptian-Indian Friendship Association, Ambassador of India in Egypt R Swaminathan and Director of the Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture (MACIC) Suchitra Durai.

Children present at the event were presented with gifts and T-shirts bearing the flags of India and Egypt.

The celebration started with a speech by the ambassador in Arabic.

He asked the children to study and train in order to improve their status and stressed that with hard work and resilience they can become anything they want. PTI RAG NSA
