Indian girls blanked 0-3 by Spain in World Jr Tennis finals

Indian girls were yet again humbled in the ITF World Junior Tennis finals as they finished their Group A engagements with a 0-3 defeat against Spain in Prostejov, Czech Republic.
Shivani Ingle began well for India as she bageled Marta Del Pino in the beginning of the contest but ended up losing the match 6-0 1-6 3-6 in the opening singles, which lasted one hour and 50 minutes.
It was the first time in this edition that the Indian team won a set in the prestigious event.
Sathwika Sama then lost 2-6 4-6 to Carlota Molina Megias in the second singles in one hour and 35 minutes.
The inconsequential doubles rubber was played by Sathwika and Aarja Chakraborty and they lost 4-6 1-6 in one hour and 27 minutes.
Earlier India had lost to USA and Russia by an identical 3-0 margin.
The Indian girls now face Morocco in the 13-16 place classification matches.
