Indian gymnasts proved no match to the Japanese, Korean and Chinese competitors as Ashish Kumar and Dipa Karmakar failed to fetch any medal in the men's and women's all-around Individual final at the Asian Games here today.
If Ashish ended a disappointing 12th in the men's draw, then Dipa finished 10th in the women's section at the Namdong Gymnasium here.
Ashish, who won a bronze in men's floor exercise and later a silver medal in men's vault in 2010 Guanghzou Games, started off well in the floor exercise and fared better in the vault, but came a cropper in the remaining disciplines.
The Allahabad boy failed to score in the Pommel Horse, Rings, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bars.
Japan's Yuva Kamoto won the gold and his teammate Masayoshi Yamamoto bagged the silver, while South Korea's Sangwook Lee stood third.
Ashish's accumulated score of 81.750 was way behind the total top score of Japan's Kamoto 87.950.

Railways gymnast Rana (77.150) suffered due to a string of ordinary landings among the 23 gymnasts in the men's section.
Meanwhile, Dipa, who won a bronze in women' vault at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow earlier this year, was way behind Chinese girls Jinnan Yao (gold), Chunsong Hang (silver) and South Korea's Narae Yun, who bagged bronze.
But India's medal hopes in gymnastics stay alive as both Ashish and Tripura girl Dipa have their favourite events coming up.
