The 39-year-old was nabbed by Malaysian Customs officials shortly after he landed at the airport from Bengaluru with carrying 5.8 kgs of methamphetamine, Customs Department Director-General Khazali Ahmad said.
"Checks on his baggage found the methamphetamine placed in a bag containing tobacco to try and fool Customs officers," he said, adding that the suspect had earlier entered the country twice before being nabbed last week.
Khazali said the department's efforts at curbing smuggling resulted in goods worth several crores of rupees getting seized in the first 11 months of this year.
