Indian Information Service officer Shujath Ali retires

Shujath Ali, an Indian Information Service officer, who served as Head of Regional News Unit, Doordarshan Chennai, and held a number of other posts during his decades-long career, retired on June 30.
He was the Editor-in-Chief of Podhigai News Unit, an official release said.
During his 34-year-long career, Ali, who hails from Hyderabad, held various positions in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
He had also served as the Chief Public Relations Officer of the undivided Andhra Pradesh Police, the release said.
Ali had a long stint as a Correspondent of All India Radio and Doordarshan, Hyderabad, and also as News Editor at News Services Division, AIR, New Delhi, it said.
