Bose Prabakar was convicted of obstructing an auxiliary police officer during the riots in Little India, a precinct of Indian origin businesses, eateries and pubs.
He received one year jail term backdated to his arrest on December 8.
Prabakar is the second man in Singapore to be convicted of obstruction during the riot, which carries up to eight years in jail and/or a fine.
He pleaded guilty to the obstruction charge but did not admit to a second charge of rioting, which was considered during his sentencing, The Straits Times reported.

Bose is the 16th of 25 Indian nationals charged with rioting to be dealt with.
So far, six have been convicted of rioting, and the other 10 - including Bose - have been convicted of amended charges, namely obstruction, unlawful assembly, and failure to disperse.
Cases of the remaining nine men are pending in court.
The riot was sparked by a fatal accident involving a bus and an Indian national who was working in Singapore.
The riot left 54 police and civil defence officers injured and 23 emergency vehicles damaged.
