Kulim district police chief, Supt. Ghuzlan Salleh said the victim, identified as K Thangaraja, 31, was driving his car last night, when two men, believed to be armed with a pistol, fired several shots at the victim hitting his face and right arm.
"This caused the victim to lose control of the car, which skidded for about 70m to the left road shoulder where he died," he said.
Ghuzlan said the police team that arrived at the scene, thought the victim was involved in a road accident until they saw the gunshot wounds.
