The incident took place in Deira city on May 29 when the 35-year-old woman from the Philippines entered a lift and was groped by the drunk labourer.
The court also slapped a fine of USD 545 on the molester for consuming alcohol without a licence and has ordered his deportation.
"It happened near the loading area. He was standing by the lift," the woman was quoted as saying by the Khaleej Times.
She claimed that the man groped her intentionally when she was about to enter the lift and was forced to walk out immediately after the incident while the accused stayed in the elevator.
The accused tried to flee but was caught and handed over to police.
The accused admitted when questioned by the police that he had been in an inebriated state but claimed it was not an intentional attempt.
The verdict can be appealed within 15 days.
