Indian movies to dominate Toronto film festival 2012

The 11-day festival will also premier National Award-winning Kannada filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli's 'The Tortoise, An Incarnation' in the Contemporary World Cinema section.

The film extravaganza opens with action thriller 'Looper', starring Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Emily Blunt, and will show 289 feature films and 83 short stories.

The festival will premier Ben Affleck starrer 'Argo', which looks back at the storming of the US embassy in Tehran in 1979, and Indian film 'English Vinglish', which marks the comeback of Bollywood superstar Sridevi after a gap of 15 years.

The film also marks director R Balki's wife Gauri Shinde's directorial debut.

Amongst other Indian films is, Mehta's 'Midnight's Children', which is an adaptation of Salman Rushdie's Booker Prize
