Indian, Nepalese hospitals tie up for better cancer treatment

A leading Nepalese hospital has tied up with an Indian super speciality hospital to offer better treatment to cancer patients here.
Baidya and Banskota (B & B) Hospital of Nepal has inked an agreement with New Delhi-based BLK Super Specialty Hospital, to launch the B & B-BLK Cancer Centre here.
Specialists from BLK Cancer Centre would provide their expertise at the Kathmandu centre and would also train Nepalese doctors and nurses, a press release issued by the hospitals said.
The Cancer Centre will provide both medical and surgical treatment to cancer patients in Nepal, including OPD consultation, chemotherapy, treatment planning and surgical procedures depending upon patient profile, the release said.
"We are committed to providing cutting-edge clinical care to the patients coupled with most cost-effective solution by combining the experienced and skill of multidisciplinary teams," Dr R Ranga Rao, Director of the BLK Cancer Centre said.
Emphasising the need for collaboration, Dr Jagdish Lal Baidya of B & B Hospital of Kathmandu said: "Our association with BLK is in keeping with our vision to become a leading healthcare provider in the region and build a suitable platform for young talented doctors and health personnel to assume future leadership roles."
The centre will begin its operations from tomorrow.
