Bankhaj Patel, who owns a dairy shop in Christchurch, was robbed by the armed men yesterday. He said his shop was robbed twice in the last five years.
Patel was out of the shop when the robbery at his shop took place. He called the police when he returned to the shop. The shop attendant, who was stabbed, is recovering from the injuries that were not life threatening.
"He (the armed robber) came in wearing a mask and pointed a gun at my wife. He asked for ciggies (cigarettes) and just walked away. He also took some money but not much. We are all okay... That is the main thing," Patel was quoted as saying by New Zealand Herald.Com.
Patel said the dangers that come with owning a dairy have increased since the last time the dairy was robbed.
