A 30-year-old woman of Indian-origin has been stabbed by a man during a carjacking in Canada when she was dusting snow off her car, police said today.
Parmjeet Kaur, however, managed to get her young daughter Komalpreet out of the vehicle unharmed before the man drove off, said police in Winnipeg city, where the incident took place on Wednesday.
Kaur was dusting snow off her vehicle in West Kildonan, a residential suburb of Winnipeg in Manitoba, when a man came up to her and demanded car keys.
When she refused to hand over the keys, the man stabbed her in the lower body, police said.
"My mom was cleaning the car, and somebody closed the car," said Komalpreet. "I was sitting in the car," she was quoted as saying by CBC News.
Police are now looking for the suspect in the case.
