An Indian tourist, who had been missing for last four days, has died from drowning in a river near Nepal-India border, police said today.
The body of Li Khan was recovered from Mahakali river in Western Nepal's Kanchapur district yesterday.
Khan, a resident of Manipur, had drowned in the river while taking a bath on Thursday, according to a local media report.
His body was found on the riverbank near Hattisar Ghat in Piparaiya, Bhimdutta Municipality-13 last evening, police said, adding that Khan along with his five friends was in the country for a picnic.
A group of five Indian youths were on a picnic in Western Nepal and they were taking bath in the Mahakali river. Four people returned from the river and Khan was missing after the incident. His body was found lying on the bank yesterday, police said.
The dead body has been handed over to one of his family members, a senior police officer at Kanchanpur told PTI.
