Indian racers are being exposed to some highly sophisticated equipment for mental conditioning by renowned fitness trainer Ramji Srinivasan, who has been roped in by JK tyres to train the drivers for their upcoming racing championship.
Srinivasan, who worked with the 2007 T20 World Cup winning Indian cricket team, said every racer's requirement is different but most of them "need to work on aerobics and develop strength endurance".
Srinivasan has trained the Indian racers for the 18th edition of the JK Tyre-FMSCI Racing Championship, beginning Saturday in Coimbatore, and will monitor their progress.
"This has been unbelievable journey from cricket to racing. Racing is altogether different from cricket. I did lot of research on high-end racing. We have brought cutting edge equipment to India for mental conditioning, which is not available in Asia," Srinivasan, who spoke through a video conference call from Coimbatore.
"The machines measure hand-eye coordination, reaction time. Many sports science centres and teams like Ferrari and McLaren and series such as Indy car and NASCAR use it. It will give cutting edge performance in the long run. Our boys are being exposed to that technology," he said.
Asked about the diet he is prescribing to the Indian racers, Srinivasan said,"Some may need Carbo loaded diet and some Protein-loaded. Blood analysis have to be studied individually."

Sanjay Sharma, Head-Motorsport, JK Tyre and Industries Limited, spoke highly of Srinivasan.
"This guy is phenomenal. With his wisdom we have brought world's best machines which will help our drivers. These machines will objectively test racer's reflexes, muscles, eye sight," he said.
Sharma also said that the Indian racers have no reason to complain now that they have everything in place from the best cars to good infrastructure.
"It is being talked globally. The race (JK Racing India series) is on FIA accredited machines. You have to win a seat here. We have the best of cars in FB02, better than the F4 level. The package of technology, officials along sponsorships is envy of everyone. We have taken baby steps and there is nothing that is left in this property now. There is no missing link," he said.
