Paswan, 40, alias Tuntun arrived in Baghaila village yesterday and was given a hero's welcome by his family, the Rohtas Superintendent of Police Vikas Varman said.
In 2003 Paswan fled to Amritsar after being released from prison in his native district in an assault case. He then crossed over to the neighbouring country but landed in a Pakistani jail.
Paswan was released by the jail authorities in Lahore on June 15, 2012 and upon crossing over to Amritsar through the Wagah border, he was admitted to a Red Cross hospital for treatment to mental trauma that he had undergone during imprisonment in the Lahore jail, Varman said.
Yesterday, accompanied by a Punjab police officer, Paswan arrived at his home in his native village.
Paswan's beaming parents Rambachan Paswan and Ramdularo Devi expressed their happiness and relief upon finding their missing son at home after over a decade and said that they did not know that their son had landed up in a jail in Pakistan.
