Stating that the IRC is a very important national forum, he said the state government had been apprising the Centre that the norms for construction of roads cannot be applied uniformly, particularly in the North-east which constitutes one of the youngest fold mountains.
He said the state has agenda such as need for more national highways and roads infrastructures.
Secretary for roads and bridges Temjen Toy said a full technical session would be dedicated for construction of roads in hilly terrains which experience frequent landslides.
