Indian woman dies in accident in Oman

An Indian woman was killed and three others seriously injured in Oman when the car they were travelling in smashed into an electric pole.
Khadeeja died in the car after it hit the electric pole near Oman's Sur city. A woman named Pushpa, an Indian driver and Khadeeja's son suffered serious injuries and are battling for life, the Times of Oman reported.
Khadeeja died from burn injuries. Indian social workers in Sur are co-ordinating with police officials to prepare the papers required to repatriate Khadeeja's body back to India.
One of the two children in the car who sustained injuries has been discharged, social workers said.
According to the National Centre for Information and Statistics (NCSI), the number of those who suffered injuries in road accidents in Muscat has significantly decreased by 61.6 per cent in 2014.
