SpiceJet is fourth with a 17.9 per cent market share, followed by GoAir with 9.5 per cent and AirCosta 0.8 per cent. Total passengers flown by all local airlines in January-April grew to 20.7 million against 20.3 million in the year-ago period, growth of a little over two per cent.
IndiGo carried the highest number at 1.68 million, followed by the Jet combine at 1.16 million, Air India (domestic) 974,000, SpiceJet 950,000, GoAir 507,000 and the Vijayawada-based new regional airline, AirCosta, 45,000, data show.
AirCosta, which flies to nine destinations with four aircraft, led in the passenger load factor figures (or average percentage of seats filled per aircraft) with 77.8%, with IndiGo following it at 76.9%, GoAir with 76.1, JetLite with 76 and Air India and SpiceJet with 73.3 each.
