Indo-French Chamber of Commerce launches presence in C'garh

The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) has launched its representation in Chandigarh in order to increase collaboration between the two countries.
"Collaboration scopes are huge between our two countries and more particularly in this program as France is mastering in urban and infrastructure development," IFCCI President Pierre Behnam said in a statement today.
He said that a former IAS officer of Haryana, Vivek Atray, has been appointed as the IFCCI Representative based at Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana.
Atray was previously the Director Industries, Haryana and also had played a major role in developing the IT Park in Chandigarh.
Behnam emphasized on the importance of Chandigarh as a Smart City programme and the particular role that France wishes to play.
He said that in collaboration with the Economic Services of the Embassy IFCCI is keen to help companies which can share their expertise in the fields of urban transport, water and waste treatment, solar energy, urban planning, architecture and heritage, but also institutions which can accompany the investment as well.
He said that basing of a Representative here would facilitate the interaction between Indian and French enterprises.
