Indo-Pak buses delayed after protests by Sikh activists
Press Trust of India Amritsar Angry Sikh activists who were staging protest against the sacrilege of sikh holy book Guru Granth in Punjab today staged protest at Attari road causing delay in departure of Lahore-Delhi and Lahore-Amritsar international bus service till 4.00 pm here, an official said.
Both the buses, after crossing over to India were scheduled to continue their journey in the afternoon followed by Custom and Immigration check, but was stopped at Indo-Pak Attari border till 4.00 pm, the official said.
Buses were cleared after 4.00 pm under the tight security cover of Punjab Police when protest was lifted.
Earlier two more buses Amritsar to Nankana Sahib and Delhi to Lahore reached Attari through different routes and crossed over to Pakistan well in time.
Sikh activists have been protesting against the alleged desecration of their holy book, and clashed with cops leading to the injury of 15 people, including eight policemen.
