Indonesia keen to revive ancient ties with Odisha

Indonesia's Ambassador in India, Andi M Ghalib, who met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here, said investors from his country were keen to invest in mining, agriculture, infrastracture and rubber plantation sector in the state.

"We also invite investors from Odisha to become partners in Indianesia's education, industries and other sectors," Ghalib said adding a busiess delegation from Indonesia would visit the state in October.

The ambassador recalled his country's special bond with Odisha and narrated how Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's late father Biju Patnaik contributed to the freedom struggle of Indonesia. Ghalib also praised Biju's effort in instituting Kalinga Unesco Prize for popularisation of science.

Earlier, Ghali had met Odisha Governor M C Bhandare and members of the Utkal Chambers of Commerce during his visit.
