Indonesian naval ship on two-day visit to Kochi

A multi-role light frigate of Indonesian Navy is here on a two-day visit during which its personnel would meet Southern Naval command officers.
Commanding Officer of the Indonesian Naval ship KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda (367) Commander Gung Putu Alit Jaya called on Rear Admiral R B Pandit, the Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command soon after arrival here yesterday, a Navy release said today.
"Other interaction includes sporting fixtures between the two navies as well as exchange of visits by specialist officers and men from both the countries with Indian Navy personnel visiting the Indonesian Naval ship and Indonesian personnel visiting the training facilities at Southern Naval Command," it said.
KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda is a Diponegoro Class ship and was commissioned in 2008.
The ship is here en route to Belawan (Indonesia) and is planned to depart from Kochi tomorrow morning, the release said.
