Medical and health services were affected in MY Hospital, Chacha Nehru Hospital and other hospitals as over 200 medical teachers boycotted work and teaching to hold a demonstration in their respective hospitals, MPMTA's Indore President Poonam Mathur said.
Besides demanding UGC grades and allowances, the MPMTA also put forth a charter of demands including pension benefits, group insurance, arrears' payment, she said, adding that a memorandum was submitted to Acting Dean of Indore Medical College Sanjay Dixit.
Despite the mass leave protest, some faculty members attended emergency services, she claimed.
However, MY Hospital Superintendent P S Thakur said that senior and junior resident doctors as well as chief medical officers were called to attend patients in the out patient departments and there was no affect on medical and health services so far.
