Industrial oil surges on consistant demand

In futures, castorseeds also hardened on higher speculative demand following firm export inquiries.

Meanwhile, groundnutoil, refined palmolein and linseedoil all held steady in the absence of any buying activity.

In the non-edible segment, castorseeds bold spurted by Rs 175 per 100 kg to Rs 4,250 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 4,075 and castoroil commercial rose by Rs 35 to Rs 880 per 10 kg from Rs 845. Linseedoil ruled stable at Rs 845 per 10 kg.

Turning to futures, castorseeds for the September contract opened higher at Rs 4,500 and climbed further to close at Rs 4,565 as against Rs 4,460 previously, showing a steep gain of Rs 105 per tonne.

However moving to edible segment, both groundnutoil and refined palmolein ended unaltered at Rs 1,220 and Rs 625 per 10 kg respectively.
